Jericho Sailing Centre "in the wind" July 12, 2007
Ahoy JSCA Members:
Here is what's "in the wind", coming events and items of interest
at the Jericho Sailing Centre, your ocean access community centre, for
July 12-July 18, 2007 and beyond:
NO PARKING AT JERICHO THIS WEEKEND!!!!
That's right, walk, run, cycle, jog, cab it, bus it, fly, levitate,
use a transporter or travel cosmically just don't bring your car and
expect to park it because the annual Jericho Folk Fest is occupying
Jericho Beach Park all weekend and parking spaces will be rarer than
shaved legs at the festival. JSCA Staff and volunteers will be patrolling
the 20 minute loading zone to ensure it is kept clear for users of the
Jericho Sailing Centre to load and of load people & gear---please
do not park in the loading zone or you will be towed.
UBC Sailing Club Beach Party Saturday, July 14 Featuring La
Candela
Bigger, better and beachier! UBC Sailing's second Beach Party is this
Saturday, July 14th. Time to get up, jump and move to the music. This
time they're turning up the heat with a Cuban theme featuring the hot
Latin sounds of La Candela. Sexy salsa dance performance at 2130H. Free
beginner salsa lessons at 2200H. Get your tickets through UBC Sailing,

Doors open at 2000H at the Jericho Sailing Centre. Come party at the
best venue in Vancouver!
Garden Party-Volunteer Workparty
Come help us beautify the Jericho Sailing Centre. Paul Morris and his
collection of green thumb volunteers will be working in the Evergreen
native plant garden between the main entrance and the SW corner of the
compound. Join the crew, help make Jericho more beautiful than it already
is Saturday, July 14 at 1000H.

Temporary Seasonal Employment Opportunity at the Jericho Sailing
Centre
The JSCA is looking for a mature, responsible, qualified person to help
crew the Centre on afternoon shifts 1200-2100H Tuesday through Saturday
evenings. The position runs through Saturday of the Labour Day weekend.

Second Annual Complete Crew BBQ - Saturday, July 21st
You are invited to a community event for all Jericho members. A chance
to get together, swap sea stories and enjoy a BBQ here at the Jericho
Sailing Centre. Meet other club members, kayakers, racers, paddlers,
windsurfers or join in the Stand Paddling Race sponsored by Windsure
Windsurfing. Last year over one hundred members attended and a good
time was had by all. Enjoy a quality day on the water and then let us
do the cooking- Saturday, July 21 @ 1600H. Volunteers wanted, please
